Four Men Arrested with Explosives in Jaffna

The  Terrorist’ Investigation Division (TID) of Sri Lanka Police in Jaffna had arrested four Tamils, believed to be ex-LTTE Tamil terrorists  from Poonarin with loads of explosives in Vallipuram in Vadamaraadchi area  in Jaffna on 3rd Feb. night.

One of the arrested man was 40 years old K. Uthayasivam, from Maruthankani in Valikaamam East area. Uthayasivam was interrogated along with others by the TID in Kilinochchiya and later transferred all of them to Colombo for further investigations.

In the backdrop of this incident Sri Lankan military and Police have set up new check-points on the A9 Kandy-Jaffna highway and Mulathiv road during the last 24 hours.

In several occasions, ex-LTTE Tamil terrorists who avoided the rehabilitation programme conducted by Sri Lankan government at the end of Tamil terrorism war in May 2009 tried to revive the Tamil terrorist outfit LTTE  was repulsed by the Sri Lankan armed forces.
