Pro-LTTE Tamil Terrorists Mayor of Toronto marks 18th May as Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day
The pro-LTTE Tamil terrorists Mayor of Toronto, John Tory, proclaimed May 18 2019 as “Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day” in a statement released in the official web site of the Toronto City Council; www.toronto.ca/city-government
The Mayor of Toronto and his political party has issued this statement in order to gain cheap political gain out of the Tamil votes in the general election. There are over 300,000 strong Sri Lankan and Indian Tamil community in Canada and majority of them are living in city Toronto under the bogus political asylum seekers to gain better standard of living than Jaffna where Tamil terrorists divested their live hood.
While Canadian government is show-offing a different picture to the International community and political world as global peace makers, Canada is promoting the separatism and terrorism in Sri Lanka encouraging the pro-LTTE Tamil terrorist’s diaspora for political advantages. Canada is notorious as a breeding ground of the Tamil terrorism in term of funding, haven for LTTE terrorists’ leaders, Ex-Tamil terrorists after the end of the war, and not banning the LTTE as a terrorist organization.
The full text of the so called proclamation issued by Toronto City Council and it Mayor John Tory is as follows:
Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day
May 18, 2019
WHEREAS, on May 18, 2019 we mark the 10th anniversary of the end of the war in Sri Lanka and remember the innocent lives that were lost.
Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day is an opportunity for us to honour and memorialize those impacted by the armed conflict in Sri Lanka. The civil war in Sri Lanka caused the persecution of innocent people, displaced many, and caused many to seek refuge elsewhere. We gather on this solemn day to remember, to commit to ensuring that such a tragedy is never repeated and continue to seek justice.
Of the 300,000 Tamils that now call Canada their home, many have come to Toronto to put down new roots. Tamils in Toronto have played an integral role in our success and continue to contribute to the social, economic, political and cultural fabric of this great city.
The City of Toronto recognizes that atrocities were committed during the war and that there is a need for truth seeking and proper accountability for those who were responsible. Just as you stand with us in building a great city, we stand with you in remembering those we lost, and commit to supporting long term peace, accountability and reconciliation in Sri Lanka.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor John Tory, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim May 18, 2019 as “Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day” in the City of Toronto.
