War Hero Promoted to “Army Chief of Staff”
Valiant soldier, commander of the 57th Division of Sri Lanka Army during the war against LTTE Tamil Terrorists, Major General Jagath Dias, who was a key commander at the ground level during the critical and all strategic stages of the war with Tamil terrorists has been appointed as the new ‘Army Chief of Staff’ to the SLA. The appointment was incidentally coincided with the 6th Anniversary of the “Victory Week’ against the LTTE Tamil Terrorists.
Jagath Dias was appointed as vice-ambassador to Germany and Switzerland in 2011 soon after his great contribution to the war against LTTE terrorists. During his term he was actively worked against LTTE Tamil diaspora front organizations in the EU and counter number of Pro-LTTE activities.
