Sinhala Jathika Peramuna Responded Federal Proposal by NPC

Nationalistic organization; Sinhala Jathika Peramuna, SJP comprehensively responded to the racially motivated resolution passed by separatist lead Northern Provincial Council’s proposal to divide the Sri Lanka for number of Federal states.

The general secretary of SJP, Mr. Jayantha Liyanage issued the press release stating that

the Northern Provincial Council members have adopted a resolution proposing the Government of Sri Lanka to establish two Federal States within the territory of Sri Lanka based on two languages, namely the Tamil and the Sinhala. A Tamil State comprising both the Northern and the Eastern provinces and a Sinhala state comprising the rest of the country in the southern area. The Sinhala Jathika Peramuna has totally rejected the entire concept due to the number of historical reasons.
