An excerpt from the Foreword of the book “Catholic Invasion”

This will be relevant even today.

The way in which people have come under the guise of religion and have slowly, quietly but continuously infiltrated the lives and work of the people, and made arrangements to make Sri Lanka a colony of a foreign power, is shown in this book through facts and statistics.

We believe that our Hindu, Muslim and Protestant brothers and sisters, as well as our Catholic brothers and sisters, will understand this warning we are giving in advance, in the very spirit in which it is presented.

We know that among our Catholic citizens there are many patriots who are not at all happy about the Catholic Church’s foreign connections. We also know that, by tradition, they show greater loyalty to the country and the nation than to the Catholic Church.

For example, although the Catholic Church was opposed to free education, the Catholic people especially the poor Catholic people who were never in a position to claim the privilege of entering university are now enjoying the blessing of receiving university education through that very free education.
We also appreciate the enthusiasm shown by our Protestant brothers and sisters in warmly welcoming new paths of national development.

Regarding Hindus and Muslims, it must be said that they, like Buddhists, are suffering from the Catholic invasion. The differences they make should serve to create peace, goodwill and unity between Buddhists and them.

It must be emphasized here that our complaint is not against the Catholic people, but against the _Catholic invasion.

This book provides an opportunity to immediately conduct an inquiry into the various activities of the Catholic invasion, to abolish the exclusive privileges enjoyed by some that are not available to others, and to ensure justice and fairness equally to all citizens.
