Book launching: “I AM INSPIRED” – about Sri Lanka

The Sparklers Foundation together with the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva, is launching book titled  “I AM INSPIRED”  on the 17th of November 2021 at the Impact Hub Geneva (Rue Fendt 1).

I AM INSPIRED“, an initiative of the Sparklers Foundation, is Sri Lanka’s first comprehensive publication to capture the insights of Sri Lankan origin leaders and change makers from around the world, spanning diverse sectors such as entrepreneurship, public policy, and arts & culture.

At the book launching the authors of the book Indira Kithsiri and Hashendra Wijesinha,  share their vision of utilising the stories to create Sri Lanka’s very first career planning textbook for high school youth in the country in collaboration with the Government of Sri Lanka.

The event will feature a number of personalities from the book and a guest speaker from the World Economic Forum.

The outline of the programme is below:

  • 6:00 pm – Special address by H.E. Hon. C.A. Chandraprema, Ambassador, Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva
  • 6:10 pm – A few words by the authors, Indira & Hashendra
  • 6:20 pm – A video message by Jayathma Wickramanayake, the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth at the United Nations
  • 6:25 pm – A few words by Philippe Cart, the founder of Philippe K. in Lausanne
  • 6:30 pm – A few words by Karen Saez, Impact Strategy and Asia Pacific, Global Shapers Community, World Economic Forum (Guest speaker)
  • 6:40 pm – A few words by Omar & Taha Bawa, the founders of Goodwall in Geneva
  • 6:50 pm – Book signing and cocktail reception
