Country Moving Towards The Threshold Of Terrorism?

” Asian Tribune” learns that, the person or persons with the criminal involvement of the recent claymore blast on the last 27th May, still not arrested and brought before the court of law.
This incident occurred on the Point Pedro – Maruthankerny B371 Road – Said to be an initial terrorists’ incident, after a lapse of 11 years.
Already ‘Asian Tribune’ has revealed the significance of the claymore blast in its news item published on the 5th of June.
It was a clarion call for the Government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, as the last remnants of the LTTE still active and also a challenge extended, – “Catch Me If You Can.”
‘Asian Tribune’ further learns that a couple of intelligence officer groups, attached to the Terrorist Division, are involved in the investigations of the case.
According to sources, the police have so far arrested one or two sprats, while the shark is left free to move around, undeterred.
It is high time the culprits of the crime arrested under the available terrorist law and brought before a court of law.
The person or persons behind the crime, it is learnt, is involved at present in narrating fictitious tales and dropping names and of his / their fictitious involvements with high ranking security service personnel, in a move to confuse the investigative officers.
In the ‘Asian Tribune’s’ report, dated 5th June, with a headline :Sri Lanka: National Security at Stake, it was pointed that, One of the dedicated, but notorious Tamil Diaspora has started working with Sri Lanka Government leaders since 2005 with the view to create confusion within the rank and file of the security forces and enhance the attacking capacity of the LTTE.
The same pattern with the ‘Beaten Track’, approach is being still carried on, to confuse the Government and the Sri Lankan Security Forces.
It is high time that, law enforcement agencies act seriously, to nip in the bud, the terrorist activities of those terror maniacs, who are raising their ugly heads, after a lapse of 11 years.
The person or persons behind fabricating the low intensity, crude claymore, the persons or person who laid the claymore in the said police post, the extend of pasture land being claimed of ownerships Et al, needs to be clearly investigated.
It is still not clear, whether those of the Bodu Bala Sena, who received lands in the Muilli Area, located in Karaveddy were, identified, contacted and obtained their statements, regarding the circumstance under which they were offered with the lands, and the purpose of receiving lands in Karaveddy, located in the Jaffna district?

The country is passing through the pain of COVID – 19 pandemic and a delayed general election. Already the oppositions were after fundamental rights petitions, a failed subversive move, against the government under the leadership of the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
As plan 2, it is alleged, that the claymore burst is viewed.
It may be another move to curtail peace and tranquility in the country, to create tension, dissension and threat to the country’s sovereignty – this allegation has to be seriously investigated.
Therefore, the delay in the arrests and delay in bringing the culprits before justice amounts to delay in a well-planned, well-oiled initial design in moving the country again under the threshold of terrorism.
I have personally witnessed, how the LTTE terror began in the 70’s and I have contributed in a big way to bring to an end the Tiger terrorism after 2005. Therefore, I feel strongly that this claymore blast should not be either ignored or taken lightly.
