LTTE terrorists to free before the election to gain Tamil’s votes by UNP
The story about LTTE Tamil terrorist prisoners has risen again by the UNP and TNA. The pro-LTTE terrorists Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have been calling upon the pro-Tamils Ranil’s government to release these LTTE terrorists as their pre-presidential election pact.
Speaking in parliament last week TNA MP Ariyanenthiran called upon the government to free LTTE Tamil terrorists’ prisoners before holding the so called festival for the Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora which is proposed to be held in December in Sri Lanka by Federalist Mangala Samaraweera. While Ariyanenthiran welcomed the move to hold a conference for the Tamil Diaspora largely pro-LTTE terrorists sympathizers and its front covered organizations, he said that priority should be given to the release of LTTE Tamil terrorists prisoners.
TNA MP Suresh Premachandran said that the TNA has been demanding the release of LTTE Tamil criminals prisoners with a general pardon under the agreement signed with Ranil and pro-minority Sirisena during the presidential election. The TNA also claimed and proved that Tamil people show their goodwill by voting for the present government into power by casting their votes and placing trust in the government and therefore the government should seriously consider addressing this issue.
Another Pro-LTTE Tamil political leader Tamil Progressive Alliance Mano Ganesan said that the issue on LTTE Tamil criminals prisoners has been a burning issue. “Our position is that they should be either given a general amnesty, rehabilitated or sent out on bail.
With regards to the undue release of LTTE Tamil terrorists from the prisons by Ranil and Sirisena to gain cheap political advantages during the general election was commented by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa that according to the recent UN reports and US intelligence reports that LTTE Tamil terrorists are still in very much operation in worldwide.
The political analysts are commenting that these are extremist’s demands to release LTTE Tamil terrorist whose hands are with full of bloods. Further they added that Tamil political parties do not have any moral right to demand release LTTE Terrorists. They explained that this government of Ranil and Sirisena was formed by a specific mandate to counter corruption, do certain constitutional reforms and to defeat Mahinda regime. According to some Tamil politicians and patriotic groups that , the government made no promises to engage in a dialogue with the Tami Diaspora groups or to address the Tamil issue. They further said that Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera made a terrible mistake by engaging in discussions with the Tamil Diaspora groups who are largely pro-LTTE Tamil terrorists. They also accused TNA of dragging the present government in this lane by getting involved in a dialogue with the Diaspora. “The TNA has been funded by the Tamil Diaspora groups living in various countries. If they are saying that they will work with the Sri Lankan government in an undivided and unitary Sri Lanka – that is a lie. Some of those Diaspora groups have been acting as the voice of the LTTE and there is no possibility for them to work in an undivided and unitary Sri Lanka,” Therefore, Tamil Political party TULF reiterated that demands to release Tamil political prisoners is a political game to take undue advantage by Ranil during the general election.
