Proceeds with Buddha statue in Nageedeepa despite of Obstruction from Tamil Politicians

Buddhists in Jaffna to commence the construction of 61-feet Lord Buddha statue at Nagadeepa Raja Maha Buddhit Viharaya in Jaffna. According to the Ven. Thero of the Nagadeepa, the construction works have started on Sunday morning.

Pro-LTTE Tamil terrorists political party TNA lead Northern Province politicians are obstructing the construction of the Lord Buddha statue in the Nagadeepa which century old one of the many historical Buddhist Temple in the Northern province in Sri Lanka

the Buddhists in the Jaffna has approached the SL Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government to transfer racist GA away from Jaffna District who is obstructing the construction and development of Buddhist culture in Jaffna district with the Tamil extremists.
The SL Governor to North, Mr Reginald Cooray has been actively promoting the reconciliation and Pease in the province wants to allocate Rupees 120 million  for the construction of the Lord Buddha statue in Nagadeepa.

SL Navy personnel are deployed in the Nagadeepa to protect the construction works from Tamil extremists, pro-LTTE Tamil terrorists, and Tamil politicians.
