Gotabaya met Maha Sangha

The President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka met Buddhist Maha Sangha at his office to discuss the current affairs of the Island.

The Ven. Nayaka Theros of all the three Chapters of the Maha Sangha met  Gotabaya  and approved  the conduct of Gotabaya the way his handling of current affairs of the Island, especially with regards to his position on not reconvening the Sri Lankan Parliament which was dissolved by the President  on 02nd  March 2020.

The Ven. Nayaka Theros has said that “Sri Lankans will be remembered Gotabaya as a leader who saved the country twice; once from the LTTE Tamil terrorists and secondly from COVID-19 Pandemic”; who met at the Presidential Secretariat.

The Ven. Nayaka Theros has expressed the importance of developing and utilizing lands belonging to temples; in particularly temples’ lands in North and East two provinces.  During the Tamil terrorism over 30 years, in these two provinces, the land belong to Buddhists  were grabbed by Tamil terrorists and pro-Tamil terrorist families called Maha Weera Families that  is families of Tamil terrorists who were killed in actions or in a suicide mission.

The President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has also agreed the chief prelates of the Maha Sangha to meet the Ven. Nayaka Theros regularly in every month on the third Friday to discuss the progress of current affairs of the Island and matters related to Sinhala Buddhists who empowered Gatabaya as the President of the country.
