Jaffna University student to be interrogated by TID for ‘giving information to Human Rights Commission’

Pro-LTTE student leader Pararajasingam Sujeevan, a student at the University of Jaffna and acting as bogus journalist, has been summoned by the Sri Lankan Terrorism Investigation Department (TID) for an interrogation.

Officials from the Kilinochchi Crime Prevention Department arrived at the residence of Sujeevan earlier this week and delivered the summons issued by the TID from Colombo.

He has been summoned for passing on information to the Human Rights Commission in Jaffna regarding a press briefing conducted by a Buddhist monk in June in which he accused a Tamil journalist of attempting to revive the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) terrorism in Jaffna.

The summons directed Sujeevan to appear at the offices of the TID on Friday, December 17.

The University Jaffna is considered as one of the breeding ground for Tamil terrorism and Tamil extremism. While many thousand Tamil students studying in many Universities in other parts of the Island while Sinhala students are being heavily harassed and discriminated in University of Jaffna.
