JO calls for legal action against Pro-LTTE Tamil terrorist Sumanthiran

Leader of the MEP and Joint Opposition leader Dinesh Gunawardena, condemned statement made by pro-LTTE Tamil terrorist political party TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran that the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks had been launched because successive governments had failed to address the problems faced by minorities. The JO MP called racist TNA MP Sumanthiran statement a serious one with racial undertones which could lead to conflicts and clashes and hence, legal action should be taken against him.

Gunawardena said Sumanthiran’s comment was totally unwarranted and all right thinking people should reject it. The TNA MP made the allegation at an event at the BMICH on Monday.

Addressing the media at the Foundation Institute, Gunawardena said while the terrorists had accepted responsibility for Easter Sunday’s attacks.
