No New Houses to Sinhala IDPs in N & E

Politically and racially motivated Tamil Officers in North and East two provinces are refusing to give due rights of Internally Displaced  Sinhala people (IDP) in North  and East two provinces. These Tamil extremists’ government officers in N & E are demanding various documents and setting pre-conditions which cannot be met by any means. One of such conditions are that asking for proof of documents for the permeant legal rights for IDP’s lands to provide the new houses from government funds. LTTE Tamil terrorists had attacked those Sinhala villages and burnt out all the properties with these vital documents to erase the legal ownership lands.

Knowing these terrorist acts, the Tamil officers and Tamil Minister who is responsible for   Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs D.M. Swaminathan obstructing to give new houses for Sinhala IDPs in N & E

According to Swaminathan, who is pro-Tamils and anti-Sinhala mind set, the construction of 65,000 houses for Tamils in the North-East will begin in the next two months and the selection of beneficiaries is being carried out by Tamil District and Divisional Secretaries of the two provinces right now.

Swaminathn said priorities will be given in the allocation of houses to affected Tamil people residing in welfare centres, affected women headed families, families with disabilities due to conflict such as disabled LTTE terrorist members , families with missing persons and disappearances due to conflict and refugee returnees who lost their shelters and lived in welfare camps. However, minister failed to mention about those effected Sinhala people due to Tamil terrorism.

Under the pretext of reconciliation, the government is granting many concessions to Tamils and Muslims but so far failed to address the burning issues of Sinhala IDPs such as housing, lands, employments, schools etc.  and resettlement of internally displaced Sinhala people in N & E.

Sinhala People in Jaffna are demanding the successive governments to open the Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna for their children. President Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil had visited Jaffna and Eastern province many times but failed to visit or address the issues of Sinhala people who are in a very pathetic condition in North and East two provinces.

North East Sinhala IDP Association, NESIA has written about these matters in many times directly to the President, Prime Minister and concern Minister but no single action has been taken so far.
