Ranil and Sirisena Personally Guaranteed Federal to TNA

Pro-LTTE Tamil terrorists’ political party, TNA leader racist and extremist Sampanthan stated to Indina media that the personal and explicit commitment of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesighe to promoting ethnic reconciliation through appropriate constitutional provisions which is Federal state to both East and North provinces.

Pro-LTTE TNA leader thinks that the present Sirisena-Wickremesinghe dispensation is the only one which can deliver goods for the Tamils through a Federal State which lead to ultimate goal of Tamil eelam because the Sinhala opposition parties led by a resurgent and former war wining president, Mahinda Rajapaksa, are resolutely and uncompromisingly averse to  more devolution of power. The Jamatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is wary about federalism and the expansion of ethnic enclaves for minority militant Tamils and Muslims. The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU), a strong voice within the government, is against any more devolution.

The TNA’s leadership tactically  urges the Tamils not to attach primary importance to nomenclature such as “federalism” or “unitary”, but to go for the substance of devolution irrespective of the term used  in order to reach to ultimate goal of Tamil eelam.  Sampathan and its pro-LTTE Tamil terrorist’s leaders however openly demanded for Federal states for them in a merged North and East two provinces. TNA lead Northern Province Chief Minister racists and anti-Sinhala Buddhists Vingeshwaran given ultimatum to the government to come up with a Federalism based new constitution.

The majority Sri Lankans are coming out with statements opposing to separatist the demands such as a federal constitution, enhanced devolution of power beyond the 13th Amendment, and the unification of the Northern and Eastern Provinces to form a single Tamil-speaking province.

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and its alliance, the United Peoples‘ Freedom Alliance (UPFA), have categorically stated that their organisations will not countenance anything more than the existing 13th Amendment. They have rejected the TNA’s plea for the merger of the North and East to form a single Tamil-speaking province.
