Request to Appoint a Presidential Commission to Inquire 1983 Riots

The Sinhaladeepa Jathika Peramuna, SJP,  a registered political party who are working and campaigning for the integrity of Sri Lanka has written to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to set up a presidential commission to inquire the whole incidents behind the July 1983 riots in Sri Lanka.

The General Secretary of the SJP Jayantha Liyanage highlighted that while whole Sinhalese are being blamed by the UN, and so called international communities to the riots instigated in July 1983 by then government  and members of leftist  trade union Tamil are not being accused for atrocities committed by LTTE Tamil terrorists and Muslims for the Easter Sunday attack by Islamic extremists in 2019. So, SJP wants to inquire the background to riots and bring groups or individual to the book and clear the name of majority peace loving Sinhalese.
