Tamil History in Sri Lanka and Tamil Homeland

Tamils originated in Tamil country- Tamil Nadu! In the first place there was no race called Tamils- there was a language called Tamil that some of the Dravidian race spoke. British, in their ignorance, called the Tamil speaking Dravidians -Tamils! This was in the 1700s when the Dutch followed by Brits were importing Tamil labour all over the world to work on plantations, roads etc- the imports were taken to many countries such as Fiji and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka was invaded by the Cholas in 993 AD – but as a rule, in those days when the UN was not yet born to ask questions about human rights of the invaders and those clean, righteous white people who gave birth to the UN were busy violating human rights themselves in their respective colonies, any invaders who invaded a country and lost were annihilated in toto by the victors. That was the rule then. There was no such thing as Cholas invading Sri Lanka and when they were routed from the country by whoever defeated them, some of the Cholas choosing to buy a property and settle down here.

An enemy defeated was driven out of the country or massacred- that was the law of invasion and war pre-UN (or it’s predecessor League of Nations)! Therefore, none of the Tamils in Sri Lanka are descendants of the Cholas- they were first brought in by the Dutch for their tobacco plantations in Jaffna or later brought In by the British!
That is the history of Tamils in brief! Take it or leave it!
