ULF Blamed Buddhists for falls of UNP
Pro-Minority federalist National List MP Jayampathy Wickramaratne and his party members Western Provincial Council member Keerthi Kariyawasam, Jagath Hemachandra, and Chameera Perera blamed the Buddhist clergy and Rana Viruvo for the recent massive defeat of UNP in the local election which was impacted on the so called Yahapalana government addressing the press conference at Samasamaja Piyasa, Rajagiriya, where the United Left Front (ULF) explained its stand on the outcome of the local government polls and role of the Joint Opposition/ Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
The JO and SLPP are demanding for the dissolution of the Cabinet and appoint new PM and cabinet.
Reference to the SLFP stance of quitting the Yahapalana government, pro-minority Wickramaratne said that in that case the number of ministers would be reduced to 30 and the number of state ministers and deputy ministers to 40 as per the terms in the 19th Amendment.
Following recognizing the un-patriotic moves of the Yahapalana government led by Federalist Ranil and pro-minority Sirisena voters casted their votes to new political party SLPP who working towards an Unitary State.
