An art-exhibition reliving colonial rule in ancient Sinhale

The Sinhala Sangedama (සිංහල සංගේදම) (Sinhalese Struggle), a non-profit social movement to rectify the colonial historical injustices to the Sinhalese majority/and native Tamils and Muslims, an art-exhibition is being organized on 25th, 26th, and 27th November 2017 at the Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Building Complex, Colombo 7.

When the world speaks on accountability for crimes, the world cannot ignore accountability for crimes that lasted over 500 years during colonial rule. More importantly, our own people must also be aware of what we went through to build up this small nation. History is excellent learning curves for all. Our objective in organizing this art exhibition that will depict 20 giant paintings each 7ft x 10ft in size is to share among own citizens memories which are the keys not to the past but to the future. A picture does speak a thousand words. All the paintings will be accompanied by a historical summary citing sources to confirm authenticity said the organizers.

The Organizers are inviting members of the government, opposition, schools  and universities as well as the general public to attend. They also proposing to take these paintings to other main cities of Sri Lanka to share among the rest of the country history through art too.

Organizers seek assistance to organize this event in other districts of Sri Lanka.

The organizers can be contacted over 0094 71 0483100 or  0094 77 2987906, and contact Dr. Chamila Liyanage to organize this exhibition in other cities.
