India want to keep friendly relations with Lanka
According to Indian Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu India needs to maintain a good office with Sri Lanka for a sustainable friendly relationship. The Indian media quoted Naidu as saying India would establish a friendly relationship not only with Sri Lanka but all its neighbours including China. China is the main trading and political partner of Sri Lanka in the recent past since India trained, funded and formed the LTTE Tamil terrorists. Sri Lanka fought with India backed Tamil terrorist for 30 years until May 2009. While China supporting to Sri Lanka at the UNHRC for the US and EU backed so called resolution against Sri Lanka, Indian voted with EU and US against Sri Lanka.
Naidu saying that “Even as the government is sensitive to the issues of Tamils in Sri Lanka, India needs to maintain friendly relationship with Sri Lanka as well as the island nation would incline towards other neighbours,” indicating Sri Lanka’s close relationship with Pakistan, and China.
