The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka concern of ISIS call to demolish Borobudur
Sri Lankan Muslims concern over the call by extremists group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria to demolish the world heritage Buddhist site of Borobudur in Indonesia. The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka has written to the President of Indonesia which is the largest Muslim country in the world to take immediate appropriate actions to protect the world largest Buddhist monastery.
In 2007, American trained and funded Taliban terrorists bombed and demolished 1700 years old Bamiyan Buddha statues.
In Sri Lanka, former Muslim politician M H M Ashraff allegedly bulldozed historical Buddhist archaeological sites to build housing schemes in the Eastern province in Sri Lanka.
