MR Will Not Assist Hybrid Court Which Would Betray Soldiers

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has rejected the proposed hybrid court saying he will not assist it in any way.

Rajapaksa is of the opinion that Sri Lanka does not require foreign judges to rule on domestic issues as Sri Lanka has well-experienced and capable judges.

The former President is prepared to assist a domestic investigation into incidents related to the war but not a hybrid court favour by Ranil, Mangala and Sirisena.

A UN report released last week which investigated allegations of serious human rights abuses in Sri Lanka during a nine-year period, has found horrific levels of violations by both sides. However, little allegation has been given to LTTE Tamil terrorists in his report. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, in releasing the report, called for the formation of a hybrid special court with foreign judges, lawyers, prosecutors to investigate the allegations.

The so called Hybrid court is a brain child of Yahapalanaya lead by Federalist Ranil and pro-minority Sirisena and his team to undermine the nationalism within Sri Lankan society. Since came to power, Sirisena and Ranil are propagating minority favour policies to sideline the majority Sinhalese in Sri Lanka. Undue appointment of Tamil as Opposition leader of the parliament, given undue concession to Northern provincial council, releasing of LTTE Tamil terrorist criminal from prisons while passing the death sentences to soldiers are some of anti-Sinhala actions taken by the duo.
