Pastor Jerome Fernando’s Case Postponed to March 2027 for AG’s Advice
Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered the case against Fredric Christopher Jerome Fernando, also known as Pastor Jerome, to be called again on March 03, 2027, awaiting instructions from the Attorney General.
When the case was taken up, the Criminal Investigation Department informed the court that the Attorney General’s instructions had not yet been received. The suspect, who was previously arrested and granted bail over allegations of delivering sermons harmful to religious harmony, appeared in open court.

අන්‍යාගමිකයන් අතර පවතින සංහිඳියාව බිඳ වැටෙන ආකාරයේ දේශන පැවැත්වූ බවට චෝදනා ලබා ඇප මත මුදාහැර සිටින ෆෙඩ්රික් ක්‍රිස්ටෝපර් ජෙරොම් ප්‍රනාන්දු නොහොත් පාස්ටර් ජෙරොම්ට එරෙහි නඩුව නීතිපති උපදෙස් සඳහා 2027 වසරේ මාර්තු මස 03 වනදා යළි කැඳවීමට කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් පසන් අමරසේන නියෝග කළේය.
අදාළ නඩුව කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී නීතිපති උපදෙස් මෙතෙක් ලැබී නොමැති බව අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව අධිකරණයට දැනුම් දුන්නේය.
සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් නඩුව කැඳවූ අවස්ථාවේදී ඇප මත සිටින ෆෙඩ්රික් ක්‍රිස්ටෝපර් ජෙරොම් ප්‍රනාන්දු විවෘත අධිකරණයේ පෙනී සිටියේය.
ආගමික සංහිඳියාව බිඳ හෙළන ආකාරයේ දේශන පැවැත්වීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපරාධ පරීක්ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මඟින් සැකපිට අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන රක්ෂිත බන්ධනාගාරගත කර සිටි ඔහු, පසුව ඇප මත මුදාහැර තිබුණි.
